About ME

My PROFILE

I’m an editor with a passion for helping text reach its potential so that others can understand and be helped by the messages conveyed.

Born in Washington state, I moved to Helena, Montana, with my husband and daughter in 2019. Of course, Montana was a great place to spend the COVID years, and everyone else realized it was a great place too! So, our quaint little city is growing. We love the big sky, the convenience of a ski area that’s 25 minutes away, the kid-friendly vibes (for our 11-year-old), the kind people, and the opportunities to relax and be ourselves.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, meditating, going for walks, skiing, cooking healthy food, learning about health, watching documentaries and reality shows (baking shows in particular!), and hanging out with my family.

I am  familiar with major style guides, including The Associated Press Stylebook, The Chicago Manual of Style, and the American Psychological Association (APA) manual.

My Education and Experience

I have more than ten years of experience as an editor and proofreader, as well as extensive experience as a writer. Much of my editing has been focused on the health sciences, including university communications and publications at a health clinic.

My education includes a BA in journalism and a certificate in technical writing and editing from the University of Washington. I have continued to pursue education to stay up to date on grammar standards, including a recent proofreading class through the University of Washington.

I truly enjoy helping written works achieve their potential. If you need help ensuring your writing is clear, inviting, and publishing-ready, feel free to reach out. I’ll be glad to help you get it polished and ready to go.
